New pages on the Charter for equal pay in the public sector
New content highlights the results of the Charter's monitoring, current priorities and inspiring projects that have been developed.
The Confederation, cantons, communes and state-associated organisations can sign the Charter for equal pay and thus affirm their commitment to professional equality.
In 2022, the Federal Council adopted a strategy with 18 measures aimed at strengthening the Charter. To that end, the FOGE was tasked with creating a public platform, the purpose of which is to highlight the commitment of the signatories and to monitor concrete progress towards equality. It consists of a series of new pages that highlight different aspects of the Charter:
- The Monitoring page presents the results of a survey on the implementation of the Charter, conducted in 2024 among 268 signatories. It shows, for example, that certain measures, such as the introduction of flexible working time models or parental leave longer than the legal minimum, are already being implemented by a large majority of the Charter's signatories. Other measures, such as support for childcare outside the family or job sharing for management positions, have so far only been taken up by a minority of signatories.
- The Inspirational projects page allows signatories to highlight inspirational projects related to professional equality. It will be further expanded in the future.
- The Committee and priorities page presents the Charter committee, established in 2024, as well as the three priority issues defined for the coming years.
- The List of signatories can now be filtered and sorted.
