Review of progress and challenges in the field of equality in Switzerland
Bern, 26.6.2024 - In the run-up to the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration next year, Swit-zerland is taking stock on gender equality. At its meeting on 26 June 2024, the Federal Council adopted a report on this subject to the attention of the UN. Among the major achievements is Switzerland’s first Gender Equality Strategy 2030. In terms of challenges, women are still in the majority in low-paid sectors and account for the vast majority of victims of domestic violence.
