How the public views equality and violence
What do people in Switzerland think about equality? And what are their experiences and perceptions of violence – at home, in the workplace and in public spaces? A new representative survey provides a comprehensive picture.
The study surveyed 1,564 people aged 16 and over across Switzerland. The findings shed light on how equality is perceived today and on the views and experiences associated with domestic, sexual and gender-based violence.
The survey was conducted by the research institute gfs.bern on behalf of the Federal Office for Gender Equality (FOGE). It provides a baseline for assessing the long-term impact of the national prevention campaign against domestic, sexual and gender-based violence. The study captures the general situation and public perceptions at the launch of the prevention campaign "Equality prevents violence", providing a reference point against which the campaign's effectiveness can be measured as it progresses.
